Humanitarian Coalition Review of the Humanitarian Response in Nepal – April 2016
I provided extensive editing to the original draft, written by international development specialists whose first language was not English, to tighten the text significantly, correct spelling and grammar, and improve overall readability.

Philanthropists invest in a dream for young people – November 2015
This newspaper article was written for international development and youth education organization Free The Children to announce a major philanthropic donation and promote its Global Learning Center initiative. The article appeared in the Winnipeg Free Press.

Education empowers student from cradle to grad – October 2015
A piece written for international development and youth education organization Free The Children for a special newspaper pullout section that ran in connection with its 2015 We Day events. The article appeared in papers across Canada including the Vancouver Sun, Calgary Herald, Winnipeg Free Press, and Ottawa Citizen.

The Power of We Day – Me To We Books, 2013
This book by Free The Children founders Craig and Marc Kielburger feature profiles of and interviews with some of the powerful speakers who have appeared at FTC’s We Day events. As a member of the team that assisted the Kielburgers in the production of this book, I conducted interviews, fact checking research, and copy editing.

Change the channel on attack ads – March 2011
I wrote the original script and concept for this Green Party of Canada TV advertisement which ran on national TV and has garnered over 60,000 views on YouTube.

CARE IN FOCUS – 2010 CARE Canada Annual Report – December 2010
I managed this project from start to finish, coordinating with graphics designers, contract writers and printers. I also wrote some segments including the project profiles on pages 14-15, and ghost-wrote the messages from the President and from the Chair.

Presentation to the Senate of Canada Standing Committee on Human Rights – November 2010
I authored this presentation for CARE Canada President and CEO Kevin McCort. It was delivered to the Senate Committee on Human Rights on November 15, 2010.

Looking for leadership: Women’s empowerment and Canada’s new role in Afghanistan – October 2010
I edited, assisted in the writing, and oversaw publication of this ground-breaking report on Canada’s post-2011 role in Afghanistan.

The widow and the warlord – August 2010
This human interest story about a widow I met in Afghanistan also inspired one of the segments in this feature piece on CBC The National.

An op-ed on the drought crisis in East Africa. It appeared between September 12-18, 2009, in the Vancouver Sun, Edmonton Journal, Windsor Star, Saint John Telegraph-Journal and St. John’s Telegram.

This press release was used by CARE International member organizations around the globe on the event of the 2009 World Refugee Day.

Railways making excessive revenue at farmers’ expense – March 2008
This is the last press release I wrote for the Canadian Federation of Agriculture in March, 2008. All the quotations except for the one from the National Farmer’s Union President were written by me.
